Princess Alexandra of Saxe-Altenburg was born on December 1, 1878, in Altenburg, Germany. She was a member of the Saxe-Altenburg branch of the House of Wettin and the daughter of Prince Moritz of Saxe-Altenburg and Princess Louise of Saxe-Altenburg. In 1903, she married Prince Ernst of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, becoming the Princess of Hohenlohe-Langenburg. The couple had three children and lived a life dedicated to family and royal duties.
