Prince Philippe I, Duke of Orléans
Prince Philippe I, Duke of Orléans, was a French nobleman born on July 24, 1640. He was the son of Gaston, Duke of Orléans and Marie de Bourbon. Philippe was a prominent figure in the French royal court and played a significant role during the reign of Louis XIV, his cousin. He was known for his military leadership and participation in various campaigns.
Philippe I was also a member of the House of Orléans, a cadet branch of the House of Bourbon. He became the Duke of Orléans in 1661 and was known for his lavish lifestyle and patronage of the arts. He died on June 9, 1701, leaving a lasting legacy in French history.
