Power Outlets
A power outlet, also known as an electrical socket, is a device that allows electrical appliances to connect to the electrical supply in a building. It provides a point where electricity can flow from the wiring in the walls to devices like lamps, computers, and kitchen appliances. Power outlets come in various types and configurations, depending on the country and the specific electrical standards.
Most power outlets have two or three holes, which correspond to the prongs of a plug. The two holes are for the live and neutral wires, while the third hole is for grounding, which helps prevent electrical shocks. Common types of outlets include Type A and Type B in the United States, and Type C in many European countries.
