Electrical Outlets
Electrical outlets, also known as power sockets or wall plugs, are devices installed in walls that provide access to electrical power. They allow users to connect various electrical appliances, such as lamps, computers, and kitchen gadgets, to the electrical system of a building. Outlets come in different types and configurations, depending on the country and the specific electrical standards in place.
Most outlets have two or three holes, which correspond to the prongs of a plug. The two holes are for the live and neutral wires, while the third hole, if present, is for grounding. This grounding feature enhances safety by preventing electrical shocks. Outlets can also include additional features, such as USB ports for charging devices directly.
