Political Refugee
A political refugee is an individual who flees their home country due to persecution or a well-founded fear of persecution based on their political beliefs. This can include threats from the government, political groups, or other entities that oppose their views. Political refugees often seek safety in another country where they can live without fear of oppression.
To qualify for refugee status, individuals must demonstrate that they are unable or unwilling to return to their home country because of this persecution. Many countries, including those that are part of the United Nations and the 1951 Refugee Convention, have specific processes to assess and grant asylum to political refugees.
