Plant Tissues
Plant tissues are groups of cells that work together to perform specific functions in plants. There are two main types of plant tissues: meristematic tissues, which are responsible for growth, and permanent tissues, which have specialized functions. Permanent tissues can be further divided into simple tissues, like parenchyma and sclerenchyma, and complex tissues, such as xylem and phloem.
Xylem transports water and minerals from the roots to other parts of the plant, while phloem carries nutrients produced during photosynthesis. Together, these tissues support the plant's structure, facilitate growth, and enable the transport of essential substances.
