Peruvian wart
The Peruvian wart, also known as Verruca peruana, is a type of skin growth caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). It typically appears as a raised, rough bump on the skin, often found on the hands and feet. These warts can be painful, especially if located on weight-bearing areas like the soles of the feet.
Peruvian warts are more common in tropical regions, particularly in Peru. They can spread through direct contact with infected skin or surfaces. Treatment options include topical medications, cryotherapy, and laser therapy, which aim to remove the wart and alleviate discomfort.
