People's Alliance for Democracy
The People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) is a political movement in Thailand that emerged in 2006. It is known for its opposition to the government of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and advocates for political reform. The PAD is primarily composed of middle-class citizens and has organized large-scale protests to push for changes in the political system.
The alliance promotes the idea of a "people's government" and seeks to reduce the influence of money in politics. It has been involved in various demonstrations, notably during the 2008 political crisis, aiming to establish a more accountable and transparent government in Thailand.
