Parliament of Scotland
The Parliament of Scotland is the national legislative body of Scotland, responsible for making laws and overseeing the Scottish Government. It was established in 1999 after a referendum that led to the devolution of powers from the United Kingdom Parliament. The Parliament meets in Edinburgh and consists of 129 Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs) who are elected every five years.
The Parliament has the authority to legislate on various issues, including health, education, and justice, while some powers remain reserved to the UK Parliament. It plays a crucial role in representing the interests of the Scottish people and ensuring accountability in government.
