Parliament of Iran
The Parliament of Iran, known as the Majlis, is the legislative body of the Islamic Republic of Iran. It consists of 290 members who are elected by the public for four-year terms. The Majlis is responsible for making laws, approving the national budget, and overseeing the executive branch.
The Parliament operates within a framework defined by the Constitution of Iran and is influenced by the Guardian Council, which reviews legislation to ensure it aligns with Islamic law and the Constitution. The Majlis plays a crucial role in shaping Iran's domestic and foreign policies through its legislative powers.
