Paleosiberian Languages
The Paleosiberian languages are a group of indigenous languages spoken in northeastern Siberia, Russia. They are not part of the major language families like Turkic, Mongolic, or Uralic, making them unique. This group includes several languages, such as Chukchi, Nenets, and Nganasan, each with its own distinct characteristics and cultural significance.
These languages are primarily spoken by small, indigenous communities and are at risk of extinction due to declining numbers of speakers. Efforts are being made to preserve and revitalize these languages, as they hold important cultural heritage and knowledge about the region's history and environment.
