Pag-asa Island
Pag-asa Island, also known as Thitu Island, is part of the Spratly Islands in the South China Sea. It is one of the largest islands in the group and is administered by the Philippines. The island is home to a small community and serves as a military outpost, reflecting the ongoing territorial disputes in the region.
The island features a mix of sandy beaches and rocky terrain, with limited vegetation. It is strategically important due to its location and proximity to other territories claimed by various countries, including China and Vietnam. Pag-asa Island is also known for its rich marine biodiversity.
