P5+1
The P5+1 refers to a group of six countries involved in negotiations with Iran regarding its nuclear program. The group consists of the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council—China, France, Russia, United Kingdom, and United States—plus Germany. This coalition aims to ensure that Iran's nuclear activities remain peaceful and to prevent the development of nuclear weapons.
The P5+1 negotiations led to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2015, which placed limits on Iran's nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of economic sanctions. The agreement was designed to enhance international security and promote diplomatic solutions to nuclear proliferation concerns.
