Our Lady of Fatima
Our Lady of Fatima refers to a title given to the Virgin Mary based on her reported appearances to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal in 1917. The children, Lucia dos Santos, Francisco Marto, and Jacinta Marto, claimed to have seen Mary multiple times, during which she conveyed messages about prayer, penance, and the importance of faith.
The events at Fatima culminated in a miraculous event known as the Miracle of the Sun, witnessed by thousands on October 13, 1917. This phenomenon is considered a significant moment in Catholic history, leading to the beatification of Francisco and Jacinta in 2000 and their canonization in 2017.
