Optional Practical Training
Optional Practical Training (OPT) is a program that allows international students in the United States to gain work experience related to their field of study. Eligible students can work for up to 12 months after completing their degree, and those in certain STEM fields may qualify for an additional 24-month extension.
To participate in OPT, students must apply through U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and receive approval. This program helps students enhance their skills, build professional networks, and improve their employability in the global job market.
