Operation Valkyrie
Operation Valkyrie was a secret plan devised by German military officers during World War II to assassinate Adolf Hitler and overthrow the Nazi government. The operation aimed to use the existing reserve army to restore order in Germany after Hitler's death, allowing for a negotiated peace with the Allies.
The most notable attempt occurred on July 20, 1944, when a bomb was placed in a briefcase and detonated at Hitler's headquarters, the Wolf's Lair. Although the bomb exploded, Hitler survived, leading to the arrest and execution of many conspirators involved in the plot.
