Operation Beit ol-Moqaddas
"Operation Beit ol-Moqaddas" was a military operation conducted by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in 1982 during the Lebanon War. The primary objective was to eliminate the presence of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in southern Lebanon, which was seen as a threat to Israel's security.
The operation involved a large-scale invasion of Lebanon, leading to intense fighting in various regions, including the city of Beirut. The IDF aimed to establish a buffer zone to protect northern Israel from attacks and to weaken the PLO's military capabilities in the area.
