Omar Suleiman
Omar Suleiman was an Egyptian military officer and politician, born on July 2, 1936. He served as the head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service from 1993 until 2011 and was a key figure during the presidency of Hosni Mubarak. Suleiman played a significant role in regional security and intelligence matters in the Middle East.
In early 2011, during the Egyptian Revolution, Suleiman was appointed as vice president by Mubarak in an attempt to quell protests. However, he resigned shortly after Mubarak stepped down. Suleiman later ran for president in the 2012 elections but was disqualified. He passed away on July 19, 2012.
