Olibanum
Olibanum, commonly known as frankincense, is a resin obtained from the bark of the Boswellia tree. It has been used for centuries in various cultures for its aromatic properties and is often burned as incense in religious and spiritual ceremonies. The resin is harvested by making incisions in the tree's bark, allowing the sap to ooze out and harden.
In addition to its use in rituals, olibanum has potential health benefits. It contains compounds that may have anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. Today, it is also used in some essential oils and skincare products, valued for its soothing and rejuvenating effects.
