Olfactory Training
Olfactory training is a therapeutic technique designed to help individuals regain their sense of smell, often after a loss due to conditions like COVID-19 or sinus infections. It involves regularly exposing the nose to specific scents, such as rose, lemon, clove, and eucalyptus, to stimulate the olfactory system and promote recovery.
The process typically requires participants to smell these scents for about 20 seconds each, twice daily, over several months. This practice can enhance the brain's ability to recognize and process smells, potentially leading to improved olfactory function and overall quality of life.
