Oklahoma City Federal Building
The Oklahoma City Federal Building, officially known as the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, was a government facility located in downtown Oklahoma City. It housed various federal agencies, including the Social Security Administration and the U.S. Secret Service. The building was completed in 1977 and was a prominent structure in the area.
On April 19, 1995, the building was the target of a devastating terrorist attack carried out by Timothy McVeigh. The explosion, caused by a truck bomb, resulted in the deaths of 168 people and injured over 600 others. The site is now home to the Oklahoma City National Memorial, honoring the victims and promoting healing.
