Odría Government
The Odría Government refers to the period of leadership in Peru from 1948 to 1956, led by Manuel A. Odría. He came to power through a military coup, overthrowing the previous government. Odría's regime is characterized by a focus on economic development, infrastructure projects, and a degree of political repression.
During his presidency, Odría implemented policies that aimed to modernize the economy, including promoting industrialization and attracting foreign investment. His government also established a strong state presence in various sectors, which contributed to both economic growth and social unrest, leading to protests against his authoritarian rule.
