Ocular Tumors
Ocular tumors are abnormal growths that occur in or around the eye. They can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous) and may affect various parts of the eye, including the eyelids, conjunctiva, and the inner structures of the eye. Common types include retinoblastoma, which primarily affects children, and melanoma, which can occur in adults.
Diagnosis typically involves a comprehensive eye examination, imaging tests, and sometimes a biopsy. Treatment options vary based on the type and stage of the tumor and may include surgery, radiation therapy, or chemotherapy. Early detection is crucial for better outcomes.
