North Midland Railway
The North Midland Railway was a British railway company established in 1840. It was one of the early railway lines connecting the cities of Derby and Leeds, facilitating trade and travel in the region. The railway played a significant role in the expansion of the railway network in the north of England.
In 1844, the North Midland Railway merged with other companies to form the Midland Railway, which further enhanced its reach and services. The railway was known for its innovative engineering, including the construction of notable structures like the Dinting Viaduct.
