Nizam Sagar Dam
The Nizam Sagar Dam is a significant dam located on the Manjira River in the state of Telangana, India. Constructed between 1923 and 1931, it was built during the reign of the Nizam of Hyderabad to provide irrigation and drinking water to the surrounding areas. The dam creates the Nizam Sagar Reservoir, which is one of the largest man-made lakes in India.
The dam is approximately 1,450 meters long and 32 meters high, featuring a series of gates that control water flow. It plays a crucial role in supporting agriculture in the region by supplying water for irrigation.
