Nikolaos Kallikrates
Nikolaos Kallikrates was an ancient Greek architect known for his significant contributions to classical architecture. He is best recognized for co-designing the Parthenon on the Acropolis of Athens alongside the architect Ictinus. The Parthenon, dedicated to the goddess Athena, is celebrated for its stunning Doric style and intricate sculptures.
Kallikrates also played a role in the design of the Temple of Athena Nike, a smaller temple located on the Acropolis. This temple is noted for its elegant proportions and decorative reliefs, showcasing the artistic achievements of the Classical period in ancient Greece.
