National Socialist
The term "National Socialist" refers to a member of the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP), a far-right political party in Germany that was active from 1920 to 1945. The party, led by Adolf Hitler, promoted an ideology based on extreme nationalism, racism, and anti-Semitism. It aimed to establish a totalitarian state and sought to expand German territory.
The National Socialists came to power in 1933 and implemented policies that led to the persecution of various groups, including Jews, Romani people, and political dissidents. Their regime is infamously known for the atrocities of the Holocaust and the devastation of World War II, which resulted in millions of deaths.
