National Resistance Army
The National Resistance Army (NRA) was a rebel group in Uganda that emerged in the early 1980s. It was founded by Yoweri Museveni in response to the political instability and corruption following the fall of Idi Amin. The NRA aimed to overthrow the existing government and establish a more democratic system.
In 1986, the NRA successfully captured Kampala, the capital of Uganda, and took control of the country. This marked the beginning of Museveni's presidency, which has continued for decades. The NRA later transformed into the official military of the Ugandan People's Defence Force (UPDF).
