National Monument of Scotland
The National Monument of Scotland is located on Calton Hill in Edinburgh. It was designed to honor the Scottish soldiers who died in the Napoleonic Wars. Construction began in 1826 but was halted in 1829 due to a lack of funds, leaving the monument unfinished.
The structure is inspired by the Parthenon in Athens and features a series of columns. Although it remains incomplete, the monument is a popular tourist attraction and offers stunning views of the city. It symbolizes Scotland's rich history and cultural heritage.
