Namibian War of Independence
The Namibian War of Independence was a conflict that took place from 1966 to 1990, as Namibia sought to gain independence from South Africa. The war was primarily fought between the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO) and South African forces, with SWAPO advocating for the rights of the Namibian people.
The conflict was marked by guerrilla warfare and significant international attention, as many countries supported Namibia's quest for independence. The war officially ended when Namibia gained independence on March 21, 1990, following a United Nations-supervised process that included negotiations and elections.
