South West Africa
South West Africa, now known as Namibia, is a country located in the southern part of Africa. It is bordered by Angola to the north, South Africa to the south, and Botswana to the east. The Atlantic Ocean lies to the west, providing a coastline that stretches for about 1,570 kilometers. The capital city is Windhoek, which is situated in the central part of the country.
Historically, South West Africa was administered by Germany in the late 19th century and later became a territory of South Africa after World War I. It gained independence in 1990, becoming the Republic of Namibia. The country is known for its diverse landscapes, including the Namib Desert and the Etosha National Park, which is home to a variety of wildlife.
