Nahr al-Bared Camp
Nahr al-Bared Camp is a Palestinian refugee camp located in northern Lebanon, near the city of Tripoli. Established in 1949, it was created to accommodate Palestinians who fled their homes during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. The camp has faced various challenges, including overcrowding and limited resources, impacting the living conditions of its residents.
In 2007, Nahr al-Bared Camp was the site of a significant conflict between the Lebanese Army and the militant group Fatah al-Islam. This conflict led to extensive destruction within the camp and the displacement of many residents. Reconstruction efforts have since been ongoing to restore the camp and improve living conditions for its inhabitants.
