Mysore War
The Mysore Wars were a series of four conflicts in the late 18th century between the Kingdom of Mysore and various British East India Company forces in India. The wars were primarily fought over territorial control and trade dominance in southern India. Key figures included Tipu Sultan, the ruler of Mysore, and the British commanders, such as Lord Cornwallis.
The first war began in 1767, and the final conflict concluded in 1799 with the defeat of Mysore. The wars significantly weakened the kingdom and led to increased British influence in India, ultimately contributing to the establishment of British colonial rule over the region.
