Muridiyya
Muridiyya is a Sufi order founded in the late 19th century by Amadou Bamba, a Senegalese religious leader. This movement emphasizes spiritual development, education, and the importance of hard work. The followers, known as Murids, seek to cultivate a personal relationship with God through prayer, devotion, and community service.
The Muridiyya order is known for its strong emphasis on economic self-sufficiency and social responsibility. Members often engage in agricultural and entrepreneurial activities to support their communities. The order has a significant influence in Senegal and promotes values of peace, tolerance, and respect for all.
