Multiple Fruits
Multiple fruits are a type of fruit that develops from a cluster of flowers, known as an inflorescence. Instead of forming from a single ovary, multiple fruits arise from the ovaries of many flowers that are closely grouped together. A common example of a multiple fruit is the pineapple, which forms from the fusion of many individual flowers.
Another well-known example is the fig, which develops from a unique structure called a syconium, containing many tiny flowers inside. Multiple fruits are distinct from simple fruits, which come from a single flower with one ovary, and aggregate fruits, which form from multiple ovaries of a single flower.
