Multinational Force – Iraq
The Multinational Force – Iraq (MNF-I) was a coalition of military forces established in 2003 following the invasion of Iraq. Its primary objective was to stabilize the country, support the Iraqi government, and assist in rebuilding efforts after the fall of the regime led by Saddam Hussein. The force included troops from various countries, primarily the United States, United Kingdom, and other coalition partners.
The MNF-I operated under a United Nations mandate and aimed to provide security, train Iraqi security forces, and facilitate humanitarian assistance. The mission evolved over time, focusing on transitioning security responsibilities to Iraqi authorities, ultimately leading to the withdrawal of most foreign troops by the end of 2011.
