Mountains of Cuba
The mountains of Cuba are primarily found in the eastern part of the island, with the most notable range being the Sierra Maestra. This range is home to the highest peak in Cuba, Pico Turquino, which rises to 1,974 meters (6,476 feet). The mountains are characterized by lush vegetation, diverse wildlife, and unique ecosystems.
Another significant mountain range is the Sierra de los Órganos, located in the west. This area is known for its dramatic limestone formations and rich biodiversity. The mountains play a crucial role in Cuba's climate and water supply, influencing local weather patterns and providing essential resources.
