Mount Ebal
Mount Ebal is a mountain located in the West Bank, near the city of Nablus. It stands at an elevation of about 940 meters (3,080 feet) and is part of the Samarian mountain range. The mountain is significant in biblical history, as it is mentioned in the Book of Deuteronomy as a site where the Israelites were instructed to build an altar after entering the Promised Land.
The area around Mount Ebal is rich in archaeological sites, including ancient ruins and artifacts. It is often associated with the nearby Mount Gerizim, which together form a prominent landscape in the region. The mountains are also important to the Samaritan community, who consider Mount Gerizim their holy site.
