Tics
Tics are sudden, repetitive movements or sounds that people make, often without realizing it. They can be classified as either motor tics, which involve physical actions like blinking or head jerking, or vocal tics, which include sounds like throat clearing or grunting. Tics can vary in intensity and frequency, and they may worsen with stress or excitement.
Tics are commonly associated with conditions like Tourette syndrome, but they can also occur in individuals without any underlying disorder. While many children experience tics during their development, most outgrow them. Treatment options, such as behavioral therapy or medication, may help manage more severe cases.
