Mohammad Najibullah
Mohammad Najibullah was an Afghan politician and the last president of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan, serving from 1986 until 1992. He was a member of the People's Democratic Party of Afghanistan and played a significant role in the Soviet-Afghan War, receiving support from the Soviet Union during his presidency.
After the fall of his government, Najibullah sought refuge in the United Nations compound in Kabul. He remained there until 1996 when the Taliban took control of the city. Najibullah was captured and executed by the Taliban in 1996, marking a tragic end to his political career.
