Mizo Peace Accord
The Mizo Peace Accord is an agreement signed in 1986 between the Government of India and the Mizo National Front (MNF) to end a long-standing insurgency in the state of Mizoram. This accord aimed to address the political, economic, and social grievances of the Mizo people, ensuring greater autonomy and development in the region.
The accord led to the establishment of a new state government and the creation of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly. It also provided for the rehabilitation of former insurgents and the integration of various tribal groups, promoting peace and stability in the region after years of conflict.
