Mission Santa Clara
Mission Santa Clara is one of the original 21 California missions, founded in 1777 by Father Junípero Serra. Located in what is now Santa Clara, California, it was named after Saint Clare of Assisi. The mission played a significant role in the spread of Christianity among the local Ohlone people and served as a center for agriculture and education.
The mission has undergone several reconstructions due to earthquakes and other damages. Today, it is part of the Santa Clara University campus and features a beautiful church and gardens, attracting visitors interested in California's history and mission culture.
