Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa
Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa is one of the 21 California missions founded by Spanish Franciscan missionaries. Established in 1772 by Father JunÃpero Serra, it is located in the city of San Luis Obispo, California. The mission was named after Saint Louis of Toulouse, a 13th-century Italian saint.
The mission served as a religious and agricultural center, helping to spread Christianity among the local Chumash people. Today, it is a historic site, featuring a beautiful church and gardens, and it remains an active parish within the Roman Catholic Church.
