Mission San Gabriel
Mission San Gabriel is one of the 21 California missions founded by Spanish Franciscan missionaries. Established in 1771, it is located in San Gabriel, near Los Angeles. The mission was named after Saint Gabriel the Archangel and served as a center for agriculture and religious activities in the region.
The mission features a beautiful church with a distinctive bell tower and a courtyard surrounded by historic buildings. It played a significant role in the spread of Christianity among the Native American population and contributed to the development of the area. Today, it is a popular site for visitors interested in California's history.
