Minnesang
Minnesang is a form of medieval German lyric poetry that flourished from the 12th to the 14th centuries. It was primarily composed by the Minnesänger, or "minnesingers," who were poet-musicians that celebrated themes of love, chivalry, and courtly life. Their songs often featured intricate melodies and were performed in the courts of nobles.
The tradition of Minnesang is closely associated with the Middle Ages and reflects the cultural values of the time. Many minnesingers, such as Walther von der Vogelweide and Heinrich von Morungen, became renowned for their contributions, influencing later European poetry and music.
