Mingrelian language
The Mingrelian language is a member of the Kartvelian language family, primarily spoken in the western region of Georgia. It is considered a minority language, with around 100,000 speakers. Mingrelian has its own unique grammar and vocabulary, distinct from the more widely spoken Georgian language.
Mingrelian is written using the Georgian script, although it has not been standardized like Georgian. The language is closely related to Laz, another Kartvelian language spoken in Turkey. Despite its rich cultural heritage, Mingrelian faces challenges in preservation and transmission to younger generations.
