Minaret of Jam
The Minaret of Jam is a UNESCO World Heritage site located in the remote valley of the Hari River in Afghanistan. Standing at 65 meters tall, it is one of the tallest brick minarets in the world and dates back to the 12th century. The minaret is adorned with intricate geometric patterns and inscriptions in Arabic, showcasing the architectural style of the time.
Constructed as part of a larger complex, the minaret served as a symbol of the Ghurid dynasty's power. Its isolated location adds to its historical significance, as it reflects the cultural and artistic achievements of the region during the medieval period.
