Mihai I of Romania
Mihai I of Romania was born on October 25, 1921, and served as the King of Romania during two separate periods: first from 1927 to 1930 and then from 1940 to 1947. He was the last reigning monarch of Romania and played a significant role during World War II, initially aligning with the Axis powers before switching to the Allies in 1944.
In December 1947, Mihai I was forced to abdicate the throne by the communist government, which led to the establishment of a socialist republic in Romania. After his abdication, he lived in exile for several decades before returning to Romania after the fall of communism in 1989.
