Miguelite War
The Miguelite War (1828-1834) was a civil conflict in Portugal between supporters of Dom Miguel and those loyal to Queen Maria II. The war arose after Dom Miguel, who sought to establish an absolute monarchy, seized the throne, leading to a struggle for power and differing visions for the country's future.
The conflict involved various factions, including liberals and conservatives, and resulted in significant social and political upheaval. Ultimately, the war ended with the defeat of Dom Miguel, restoring Queen Maria II to the throne and paving the way for a constitutional monarchy in Portugal.
