Mid-Ocean Ridges
Mid-ocean ridges are underwater mountain ranges formed by tectonic plate movements. They occur at divergent boundaries, where two plates move apart, allowing magma to rise and create new oceanic crust. This process is a key part of the Earth's geology and contributes to the recycling of the planet's crust.
